Short CV: Prof. Panagiotis Lianos is a staff member of the University of Patras and
Collaborating Faculty member of FORTH/ICE-HT. He has obtained
his bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki, Greece, and his Doctor’s degree from the Physics
Dept. of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tenn., USA (1978). He was a post-doctoral researcher in
the Faculte de Pharmacie and the Centre de Recherches sur les
Macromolecules (Institut Charles Sadron) of the Universite Louis Pasteur,
Strasbourg, France (1978-1982), a lecturer in the Dept. of
Physics, University of Crete, Heraklion, Greece (1982-1984) and
since 1984 is a staff member of the University of Patras. Prof.
Lianos speaks Greek (native language), he is fluent in English
and French and he has a reading knowledge in Spanish, Italian and Russian. His research interests expand over
a broad range of interrelated fields including Colloids, Water soluble
and conjugated polymers, Light absorption, emission and amplification, Fluorescence probing of
organized molecular assemblies and block copolymers, Organic Light Emitting
Diodes, Semiconductor photocatalysis, Photoactivated fuel cells and Mesoscopic organic-inorganic
solar cells. His most recent research is related with the last three
fields.
